The rules of competitions of IGF (International Federation of Handball) have the followings requirements to the handball:

for men and youth (older than 16 years) teams (size 3) -- circumference 58 -- 56cm, weight 425 -- 475g

for women teams, teams of girls older than 14 years, and teams of youths from 12 to 16 years (size 2) -- circumference 54 -- 56cm, weight 325 -- 400g

for the teams of girls from 8 to 14 years and boys from 8 to 12 years (size 1) -- circumference 50 -- 52cm, weight 290 -- 330g
